Barrabás es un grupo español de rock y música disco fundado por Fernando Arbex (1941-2003) e Iñaki Egaña en Madrid. El grupo desde su propio inicio tuvo una serie de disputas y desacuerdos internos, que motivaron la salida del mismo Egaña -quien regresaría en 1983- y de los demás miembros que los fueron acompañando hasta 1979, año donde Arbex disolvería el grupo y se dedicaría a producir música para otros intérpretes, labor que inició con el mismo Barrabás luego de la salida de Egaña.
Arbex, quizá en un ataque de nostalgia, reformó el grupo en 1980, con el retorno de José María Moll, Ernesto Duarte y José Luis Tejada y la integración del costarricense Koky Maning y de los españoles Susi Gordaliza y Armando Pelayo. Con esa formación, grabaron los discos "Piel de Barrabás" y "Bestial", siendo la canción que compartiré en estas líneas perteneciente al primer disco.
En 1983, su disquera, la RCA, no quiso continuar con el grupo, y cuatro de sus integrantes inmediatamente abandonan el grupo, lo cual, gracias a que encontraron una nueva disquera -CBS-, facilitaron el retorno de Miguel Morales y de Egaña. Poco a poco perdían fuerza y solamente regrabarían éxitos pasados, lo cual haría que el grupo dejara los escenarios en 1990. En 1993 regresarían, bajo el liderazgo de Moll y de Egaña, con algunos de los músicos que aún permanecen con vida, ya que tanto Arbex, como Tejada y Duarte, han fallecido.
"On the road again", es la canción que ha inmortalizado a este grupo y como lo cité, hace parte del disco "Piel de Barrabás", grabado y lanzado en 1981. Compuesta por Fernando Arbex, mezcla apropiadamente al rock y al funk, género que reinaba en buena parte de Europa sobre la época. No siendo más, ¡disfrútenla!
