Otis Day and The Knights es una banda ficticia creada para la película "National Lampoon's Animal House", lanzada en 1978. Estaba liderada por el mismo Otis Day, interpretado por DeWayne Jessie, pero el actor no era quien hacía la voz en esta canción, es Lloyd Williams quien realmente la interpreta.
"Shout", que significa "gritar", es el título de una canción popular y bastante influyente de la cultura estadounidense, grabada en 1959 y compuesta e interpretada originalmente por The Isley Brothers. La canción, según los mismos Isley, es una "llamada y respuesta" a la letra de "Lonely teardrops", de Jackie Wilson.
